Manchester United warm up at Old Trafford, a week after getting a 1-1 draw and an away goal from Henrik Mkhitaryan in Russia.
The teams come out before the 8.05pm kick off.
United started the game well, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic hitting the post twice in the first half.
While Armenian international, Mkhitaryan was unlucky to see a chip go just wide after beating Rostov ‘keeper Nikita Medvedev.
Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia both had good games at the back for United.
Early in the second half, ‘The Iranian Messi’, Serdar Azmoun forced Argentine international, Sergio Romero into a good save.
After 70 minutes the deadlock was finally broken, when Juan Mata tapped home following a break which saw a Mkhitaryan cross flicked into the Spaniard’s path by Ibrahimovic. This goal meant Rostov now needed to score to send the match into extra time.
With Rostov pushing for an equaliser, Romero got down well to stop first leg scorer and substitute Alexsandr Bukharov from heading the visitors level.
And in the final minute, Romero had more work to do. Christian Noboa’s free kick was well saved in what was the final action of the game.
Manchester United now go into the Quarter Finals of the Europa League where they will face Anderlecht for a place in the last 4. The second leg will be played at Old Trafford on Thursday 20th April.
